1. Tax-Exempt Organizations (Private Foundations), Tax Year 2019 Tables based on data from a sample of Tax Year 2019 Return of Private Foundations (Forms 990-PF) filed with the IRS are now available on SOI’s Tax Stats webpage. The four tables include estimates for the number of returns, income statement and balance sheet items, excise tax on net investment income, and charitable distribution information for these organizations. SOI classified the statistics by organization type, operating and grant-making status, and size of the fair market value of total assets. Additionally, there are three updated historical tables presenting selected items for Tax Years 1985–Tax Year 2019. One table presenting Filing Year 2021 data from United States Gift (and Generation-Skipping Transfer) Tax Return (Form 709), including information on total gifts, deductions, credits, and net tax amounts is now available on SOI’s Tax Stats webpage. Data were collected on the donors, recipients, and gifts that exceeded the annual exclusion amount. Data are presented by tax status and size of total taxable gifts. A One Sheet with highlights of the data is also available. 3. Tax-Exempt Organizations, Annual Financial Extracts, Calendar Year 2022 Two new extracts of tax-exempt organizations’ financial data for Calendar Year 2022 are now available on SOI’s Tax Stats webpage. These annual extracts contain selected financial data from the Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Form 990) and the Short Form Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax (Form 990-EZ) processed for program administrative purposes during Calendar Year 2022. The data are in Microsoft Excel. Supporting documentation is also available. For more information on Federal Taxes please visit IRS.gov.
